One of the cornerstones of any beauty routine is skincare. Without a proper, healthy base, cosmetics are rendered useless and can cause damage. Modern skincare routines involve multi-step processes which get expensive. Besides the economic factor, these cosmetic products are full of chemicals and may result in the ‘build-up’ of toxins in your system.
So what is one to do in such instances? Turn to organic skincare of course! There are innumerable ‘do-it-yourself’ methods that ensure that you get the perfect skincare routine down pat, no matter the skin type, and don’t cost much either.
The following organic tips are easy to do and offer amazing results:
1. Getting rid of puffy eyes
Puffy eyes can make you look dull and tired. They also affect your self-esteem and tend to make you want to hide away more often. while the shops do have solutions for eye bags, these are very expensive. An inexpensive, organic alternative would be tea bags! Take a couple of green tea bags and boil them in a glass of water for a minute. Once you remove them, place them in a small bowl and refrigerate until chilled. Place them on your eyelids for about 10-20 minutes.
2. Hydrating skin naturally
Drinking water is the most efficient way to hydrate your skin. You can also ensure you enjoy a glowing complexion by making a natural antioxidant blend that can be used right after cleansing your face. Take equal parts of pomegranate seed oil, raspberry seed oil and heat them just for a minute before allowing it to cool off completely. Transfer it in a glass jar. Ensure to take 3 to 6 drops of the oil mixture every day and rum it in the palm of your hand so that it generates warmth. Apply it on your face on a regular basis and massage in a circular motion to remove the fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Yet another way to hydrate your skin is to drink coconut water (popularly referred to as the tender coconut water) on an empty stomach.
3. Removing dead skin
Most of the exfoliants contain ingredients that cause friction against the skin and cause further damage than otherwise. Papaya contains papain, a natural enzyme that can help exfoliate the skin and leave it smooth and silky. Note that greener papayas have higher amounts of this enzyme so ensure to get these. Take about 1/2 cup of raw papaya and blend them with 2 tablespoons of pineapple until it is smooth. Apply on the skin and leave it for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse with cool water. The reason we use pineapple is that it contains the enzyme bromelain, which also helps to clear dead skin.
4. Reducing dark circles
Most of the people who have under-eye circles are largely allergic to sudden changes in the environment. If you usually find yourself waking to frequent darkness under your eyes, try using arnica gel which has powerful properties that result in anti-inflammatory qualities. This alleviates the swelling and also reduces the appearances of dark circles under the eyes.
